of cake making day part 2

was at home today. decided to try out one of the recipes for marble cark. the texture is ok but the top becomes a little over crispy and it broke open. taste a little bit like brownie hahaa

150g plain flour
120g unsalted butter
65g  margarine
150g caster sugar
4 eggs
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tbsp milk
30g cocoa powder

1. preheat the oven at 175 degree celsius
add baking powder to plain flour and sift the mixture.
beat the butter , margarine and sugar until fluffy.

2.then add in the eggs, one by one and mix well. i added 1 tsp of vanilla essence too

3. add in the sifted flour and 1/2 tbsp of milk and mix well

4. once the mixture is well blended. separate the batter into 2. to one of the batter, add the cocoa powder and 1/2 tbsp of milk and mix well

5. gradually add in the 2 different batter together and give it a swirl with your spatula to create an uneven pattern inside the cake. for me, i am using a brownie tin (probably thats y it taste more like brownie haha). it should actually fit a 6.5" tin.

6. bake the cake for 40-45 min ( it differs on the type of tin you are using. for mine, i need to bake additional 15 minutes on top of 40 min cos the tin is deeper). use the satay stick method to determine if the cake is baked! it should come out clean if is baked.

ok. the top looks crispy but the inside is gd. soft and nice. so here u go, how to bake a cake in 6 steps.
